Bradford Police Museum Volunteer - Walking Tour Guide

If Victorian murders, poisonings and tragedy is your thing, come and join us. An exciting opportunity to run walking tours in the historic setting of Bradford city centre telling the story of Law & Order and the history of policing.

The Bradford Police Museum is committed to telling the story of policing in Bradford. In particular, the museum wants to encourage new and developing audiences to enjoy & learn more about the history of policing.

We are looking to recruit a small team of enthusiastic volunteers to run a walking tour of the city centre to help interpret and explain the history and heritage of policing within the context of crime and punishment, the criminal justice system and civic enforcement in Bradford from the early 19th Century onwards.

The Bradford Police Museum is a not for profit making registered charity. The museum has an extensive collection of bespoke Bradford police artefacts and is run by a team of over 35 enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers. The museum is unique in that in addition to the displays in the museum gallery the museum offers guided tours of its Victorian cells and courtroom. The museum has been awarded the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for a number of years.

The tour itself is already developed. Our curatorial team and knowledgeable tour guides can help provide material and more context.

The walking tour volunteer team will run the tours. Members of the public will pay to participate with all proceeds going to the running of the museum.
