Event Volunteers play a vital part in activating and energising the BHF events portfolio. Event volunteering is open to people from all walks of life and will be an exciting and rewarding experience. Whether you are looking to meet new people or want to develop new skills and get some events experience or are passionate about the BHF and looking for a different way to Beat Heartbreak Forever, we are here to point you in the right direction. As part of this year’s programme, we are now seeking volunteers to help at one of our flagship events, in July, please see details below.
BHF Yorkshire Three Peaks (Y3P) - Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 July 2021:
Get involved as over 1,000 BHF supporters’ hike 24 miles and climb over 5,000 feet to tackle one of the greatest and most rewarding challenges in the UK. In doing so, you’ll be helping our participants accomplish something incredible as they fundraise to support BHF research and the lives of those living with heart and circulatory diseases.
We’re the BHF. We fund research to keep hearts beating and blood flowing. Research has given us machines that can restart hearts, the ability to fix arteries in tiny babies, the power to give someone a heart they weren’t born with, and so much more. But heart and circulatory diseases still kill 1 in 4 in the UK, they cause heartbreak on every street. And that’s why our work is as urgent and vital as ever with the promise of future preventions, treatments and cures. But we need your help to make a difference.
You don't need any particular skills apart from a commitment to attend and carry out your shift with a smile and a few words of friendly encouragement for the participants! We are looking for up to 18 volunteers to help us at the event on either Saturday 17 or Sunday 18 July. Event Volunteers have a choice of shifts and opportunities. For example, the Start/Finish Assistants will help with site install and branding, offer general support to Start/Finish Managers, give information to participants as required and help to hand out medals and water. Checkpoint Assistants will be transported to one of two checkpoints, help to set up or de-rig depending on shift and give support with crowd flow. Please get in touch if you require information about accessibility of opportunities or you have a health condition that may require additional support to volunteer; your volunteer manager can give you a call to discuss suitable opportunities.
