My Guide

Paired with someone with similar interests, for a pre-agreed period of time, you will provide a safe, guiding arm to support someone with sight loss to do the sociable fun things that will help them live life to the fullest.

This can include activities ranging from a cuppa and chat, to swimming, the gym, knit and natter, theatre, sports events to visiting areas of local interest.


Skills

Friendly and happy to have a go at different activities • Like chatting to people and getting out and about • Sensitive to the needs and feelings of others • Experience of people with sight loss is an advantage but not essential; full training is given before you can be matched with your partner
