Telephone Befriender

To telephone befriendees at their home for around 30-45 minutes on a regular basis. This would usually be arranged on a weekly basis but may increase/decrease depending on an individual's needs. To provide a listening ear and chat about interests and hobbies. To keep a record of contact with befriendee with a brief note on the conversation and report back if there are any issues/concerns that may need dealing with by the co-ordinator. You will participate in regular updates with the co-ordinator to discuss any issues arising. Calls are usually made between Mon-Sat between 9.30 & 4.30 however these times could be adapted to fit with the needs of those involved. Unfortunately we are unable to provide expenses for telephone calls made.


Punctual & reliable. Friendly, warm, & empathic. Good phone manner. Enjoys talking to people. Be non-judgemental and able to maintain personal and professional boundaries. Willingness to receive training and undertake a DBS. Ability to maintain client confidentiality.
