Volunteer Stock Sorter

Role Summary The role of Stock Sorter is backroom task which involves sorting customer donations, pricing and tagging items ready for sale. Main Duties Include • Sorting donations and checking items for cleanliness • Processing saleable stock and dealing with substandard donations in the appropriate manner • Checking shop floor stock and sourcing items to fill gaps • Steam clothing to make them more desirable • Tidying donation room

Skills

Skills and Experience • Knowledge of fashion trends, furniture, bric 'a' brac and prices (or a willingness to learn) • Enthusiastic, positive, and committed attitude with a flexible approach to tasks • The ability to take direction and to work as part of a team • Trustworthy and capable of being able to work independently at times • Experience of working with vulnerable adults and an understanding of the voluntary sector desirable but not essential • Awareness of safety and workplace hazards.
