Wellbeing Support Volunteers

The Volunteer Role Our Supported Internships programme supports people with learning disabilities, aged between 16 and 25, to develop skills for work in a employment setting. You will support people with learning disabilities to enjoy and benefit from a range of activities and help build their confidence and independence. We are looking for a volunteer, who would be happy to engage with the learners on a 1-1 basis, for example taking them for a coffee and a chat, attending a club or trying a new activity. You will help participants to get the most out of the Supported Internships programme. Volunteering in this role is a great way to make a difference to someone’s life and help prepare them for the working world. You with receive support and guidance from Mencap tutors and caseworkers. About the team Mencap’s Lifestyles and Work team delivers projects and programmes based around employment and leisure for people with learning disabilities.
