Location: Youth clubs in various location around Bradford / Keighley BD20
Brief Description of Role: Assisting the young carer worker at weekly / fortnightly term time youth clubs and/or on day trips/activities provided for groups of young carers during school holidays.
Essential Qualities required: • Enjoy engaging with young people, in groups and individually • Understanding of boundaries around working with young people (basic safeguarding training will be provided) • Reliable • Organised • Attentive • First Aid knowledge – training will be provided
Desirable Qualities: • Enjoys playing and joining in activities, from arts and crafts to theme park trips • Own car and clean driving licence
Time Commitment: 2 hours once per week/fortnight and/or flexible to attend trips during school holidays – trips may be a couple of hours or most of a day; commitment is flexible to meet volunteer requirements
Tasks you will be responsible for: • Helping supervise the young carers • Helping the worker with admin tasks such as checking registers • Helping the young carers with the activities • Helping the young carer worker set up activities at youth club and pack away at the end.

Young carers groups run from 4.30-6.00 during term time. In the school holidays activities are on a more mixed timetable.
