Better Place Bradford is identifying and overseeing improvements to local parks and outdoor spaces with the aim of providing a healthier and happier environment for babies, young children and families. We work across larger parks, pocket parks, community centres, streets and green spaces across BD3, BD4 and BD5.
As Urban Ranger, I manage the maintenance and upkeep of the Better Place sites, visiting our sites on my electric cargo bike with all that I need for the day. Tasks include sweeping sand, litter collection, weeding, raking leaves, affixing signs, reporting fly-tipping, installing birdhouses and music walls, repair-work and safety checks.
