Community Companion (Befriender)

This would be spending one hour per week befriending an individual aged 18+, face-to-face in the local community. This could be outdoors for a walk or attending a local group to help their loneliness and reduce their social isolation, by building up their confidence to go alone once support finishes. Support is for 3 months.

Skills

Excellent communication skills, verbally and non- verbally. Understanding, sensitive, compassionate, friendly. Non-judgmental, punctual, organised.
