Telephone befriender – Home based

We are seeking a volunteer who enjoys talking to people, is good at making conversation and likes to meet new people. The role will involve making regular weekly calls to a small number of older people who live in their own homes and may be experiencing loneliness and isolation. The role is home based and you will be supported by one of our community coordinators in your role.

Skills

• Enjoys meeting new people and getting to know them. • Good telephone manner • Willing to take part in training including Safeguarding, confidentiality etc. • I.T skills would be helpful as the training can be provided remotely for volunteers from outside the local area.
