Volunteer Activity Group Leader

The aim of social and activity groups is to help improve the quality of life older people who are socially isolated and may only get out to this activity. Activity Group Leader Volunteers will be the first point of contact at the groups for our members and provide them with the support they need to join in the activity. The Group Leader will be responsible for overseeing the activity, co-ordinating and supporting other social group volunteers to collect money, serve refreshments, and help people with activities.

Skills

Good organisation skills Good listening skills Patience, empathy, and understanding of the needs of older people The ability to engage yourself and others in a wide range of activities. You will be reliable and punctual and responsible. You will have the ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing needs. A clear sense of personal boundaries Able to provide supportive and non-judgemental support You will be willing to join in with training and development. You’ll be able to maintain confidentiality.
