To support the green space and sensory garden at the back of Shipley Resource Centre. The space is designed for the people we support who attend The Fab 2 service and Shiplet Resource Centre.

Skills

To have some knowledge and experience of gardening
To have some experience of managing gardening related tools i.e. loppers, secatuers, shears and electric hedge cutters.

We are looking for a volunteer happy to be involved in the following tasks:

  • Mowing, trimming, tree cutting and pruning
  • Maintenance of green spaces
  • Cleaning and weeding
  • Application of chemical and organic herbicides, pesticides and fertilizer
  • Soil management activities
  • Sowing, cultivation and propagation of plants, trees and shrubs
  • Designing and building gardens
  • Cultivating fruit and vegetable plants
  • Maintain hanging baskets and borders around the building
