Treasurer

River Worth Friends is a charity, managed by a committee of volunteer trustees. We work to advance the conservation, protection, restoration, and improvement of the River Worth and to engage the community to look after the river.

The River Worth Friends treasurer is a trustee with specific responsibility for helping the trustee team oversee the charity’s finances and ensure sound financial management. The role includes: • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records. • Preparing simple financial reports for trustee meetings and the AGM. • Acting as the main contact for the bank and any external funders regarding financial matters.

Our turnover is quite small and our accounts are not complicated. Some basic bookkeeping experience and familiarity with simple spreadsheets would be useful, but not essential.

Skills

• Comfortable with basic bookkeeping or budgeting (formal accounting qualifications not essential). • Reliable and organised. • Supportive of River Worth Friends’ aims and able to work with volunteers. • Ideally local or familiar with the River Worth area.
