To support people with learning disabilities to be able to access volunteering opportunities in order to lead varied and independent lives.
You may spend 6 to 8 weeks (once a week) teaching someone how to use public transport to get to their placements, or you may work side-by-side with your buddy to help them learn the ropes in their new placement.
Skills
- Patience, compassion and some knowledge of living with learning disabilities (though training can be provided)
- Some knowledge of using public transport across the Keighley and Bradford area
- A passion to help and support others
