We are a small charity community centre in Silsden and we host a youth club every Wednesday (during school term time) and twice a month we run on a Saturday. The Youth Club is for children aged 8-12 years and is called The Buzz Youth Club, to fit in with the charity name of The Hive. We are looking for enthusiastic people who want to work with children or have worked with children and are looking either for some experience or just to volunteer your skills. A youth work volunteer supports young people by building relationships, helping them develop skills, and participating in activities. Responsibilities: Prepare activities: Set up equipment, space, and materials for activities Supervise young people: Ensure the safety of young people in the group Communicate with parents: Talk to parents and carers about the young people in the group Lead activities: Help young people develop their social, emotional, spiritual, and physical skills Build relationships: Develop trust and respect with young people Support young people: Help young people address issues and complete tasks Encourage young people: Encourage young people to take part and contribute Other duties Ensure equipment is clean, safe, and suitable for use Tidy up after activities Maintain clear boundaries Share values such as kindness, generosity, and fairness Youth work volunteers can use their life experiences and skills to support young people.
