Opportunities with Buddha Land Kadampa Meditation Centre and World Peace Cafe

About

The World Peace Café is run by volunteers for the welfare of the community and is dedicated to the accomplishment of world peace. Without inner peace outer peace is impossible. The café therefore aims to provide a peaceful and enjoyable place where people can take time out from the busyness of daily life and, if interested, learn more about meditation and it’s benefits.

Opened on the 18 September, 2010 and providing an oasis of peace, our World Peace Café is at the heart of the local community in the centre of Keighley. Serving hot and cold drinks, cakes, light meals and snacks, the café is a perfect place to relax, meet friends or just spend some quiet time.

Buddha Land Centre was established in 2001, by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, to act as a focus for Buddhist practice and meditation and has since then grown steadily. The centre moved to a new building in August 2009 to 1 Lawkholme Crescent in the centre of Keighley. Buddha Land has continued to flourish and spread Buddhadharma, including a new centre that opened in Burnley in 2013.

The café is open 5 days a week, Tuesdays until Fridays from 10am to 4pm and Saturdays 9.30am to 4pm.

If you are interested in volunteering in the café please contact us with details of how you would like to help or pop in to discuss the project.
