Do you share a passion for tools and our desire to save them from landfill? Our local groups require Group Coordinators. We are looking for well organised people who can work together, support each other and share ideas that will get the group off the ground and keep it going. We will provide training & advice and also put you in touch with another local group who will offer advice & support. You will be invited to your nearest Refurbishment Centre as well as volunteer & open days. You will receive leaflets to distribute about your local group and all the materials for talks in the local community and maybe local radio (including a projector & screen if needed) You would deliver talks & demonstrations to churches and other local groups to encourage their support. Tools can be collected from local supermarkets, DIY stores or even garden centres. You would need somewhere to store the tools e.g. garage/big shed. The tools will be collected by a TWAM van. Some groups sort the tools before arranging collection and maybe even do some refurbishment such as grinding off rust and fixing loose handles. All broken & unsuitable tools are removed before van collection. You will also be offered your own promotional page of the main TWAM website. We help with expenses such as when needing to purchase grinding wheels & basic tools for refurbishment, however, we permit local groups to sell unwanted tools to help cover their own costs and most try to be self financing. Any expenses will be reimbursed if attending exhibitions. You will also receive TWAM branded polo shirts & fleeces. This is an incredibly rewarding role that will make a difference to people thousands of miles away.
Skills
if you have a knowledge of tools or setting up organised groups that would be great but if not, we can offer support all the way.
